Business Description

The Social Administration operates under the Social Services Act, the Health and Medical Services Act, and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons. The Social Administration aims to promote people's economic and social security, equality in living conditions, and active participation in community life based on democracy, while also providing good care, health and medical services, and support to the elderly, persons with disabilities, and others in need of societal support. The Social Administration consists of the Assistance Unit, Department of Care and Services, Department of Functional Support, Home Care Department, Management Support Organization, and Health and Medical Services Organization.

As a nurse in the health and medical services organization, you will be part of our team of nurses with assignments in special housing or in our short-term unit.

Job Responsibilities

As a licensed nurse in the afternoon within the Health and Medical Services Organization, you and a colleague will be responsible for health and medical interventions in care and nursing homes as well as ordinary housing. Your role includes coordinating good care and support, where you are part of the teamwork surrounding the individual and their relatives. The role also includes guidance within the work team. You will work together with a colleague in the afternoon but will be part of a larger group of approximately 30 nurses.

In the afternoon, you and a colleague will start from the same location at the beginning of the shift, where you will plan the work before heading out to work. Most of the tasks are urgent interventions received via phone from care and nursing staff, but some planned interventions are also included.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse, preferably with further education suitable for the assignment or experience in similar work. The ability to work independently and collaborate in a team is important. You should also be solution-focused and able to see the overall picture of the organization. Personal suitability is highly valued. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, Permanent employment – afternoon shifts. The schedule is largely set up with alternating weeks of work.
